We had a wonderful dining experience at De.Wan 1958 in Kuala Lumpur. The restaurant is beautifully decorated — elegant, vibrant, and full of character, creating a truly special atmosphere. The setting alone makes it worth visiting. The food was delicious and authentically traditional. Every dish was well-prepared, flavorful, and nicely presented. We especially appreciated the constant rice refills and the attentive, friendly service throughout the meal — the staff were professional and welcoming. Our only small issue was that we specifically asked whether certain dishes were hot and spicy and were told they were not. However, they turned out to be quite spicy. It wasn’t a major problem, but clearer guidance would have helped us choose more comfortably. Overall, an excellent restaurant with amazing food, beautiful ambiance, and outstanding service. We would definitely recommend it for a true Malaysian dining experience in KL.

Excellent local food and great service and ambience. We had cucur udang which was delicious and a humongous portion enough to serve 3-4. The kerabu pomelo soft shell crab had a nice tangy sauce which helped to take away the absolute fullness of the meal. When they serve the Assam Pedas Fish fillet, we thought they had made a mistake as it looked like a hole fish. It was actually a filleted half fish and staff assured us it was correct. The rice, both the blue pea rice and the pandan delima were so good that I had too much rice (free refill). The herb rice was so fragrant that I ate lots without any sauce or food. Service staff was attentive, helpful and friendly

I came here for the iftar buffet and was honestly shocked. I will never come back and would not recommend it to anyone! The service was terrible, even with a reservation, we had to wait just to get seated. People were standing and crowding outside like there was no proper organization. We were finally allowed to take food only around 7:15 PM, while iftar was at 7:28 PM, which made the whole situation feel chaotic. The food was very mediocre, nothing exciting or appetizing, and the queues were insane. Many dishes ran out quickly, and refills were slow. The atmosphere felt cramped, crowded, and stressful. For the price they charged, it was absolutely not worth it. Honestly, it’s better to book an iftar buffet at a hotel instead.
