Deen Mutiara at Jalan Hutton is definitely worth the wait. Queuing for around 15–30 minutes seems normal here, especially during peak hours, but the food makes up for it. Sit upstairs for air-conditioning dining. The fried chicken is nice and crispy, while the ayam bawang is also really good and not overly spicy, just nicely balanced. The real highlight for me is their mix of kuah — very thick, pekat, and full of flavour, which elevates the whole meal. Prices are reasonable and nicely priced, not too expensive for the quality and portion you get. Overall, a solid spot for satisfying comfort food and I’d happily come back again.

Always full, busy, spilling out on to the pavement. I soon realised why. The array of food for the Nasi Kandar is stunning and the flavours are amazing. It is also very inexpensive. The servers are fast but very helpful. On a corner on Hutton Street, it's central and easy to find.

Deen Mutiara in Penang ✅ What’s good 1. Good food, tasty flavours Many reviews praise the nasi kandar here. The curries are described as “pekad dan sedap” (thick and delicious). The ayam berempah (spiced chicken), kuah campur (mixed curry gravies), etc., are well-liked. 2. Affordable / good value The price is often cited as reasonable. Some people say the food costs much less than at more famous nasi kandar places, yet still delivers on taste. 3. Variety of choices & generous portions There are many lauk (side dishes): chicken, fish, squid, prawns, eggs, veggies etc. People appreciate the option to mix and match. Portions are seen as fairly generous. 4. Widely regarded & popular It’s well known among locals. Some branches (e.g. Hutton Lane, Butterworth) are frequently visited. Many give high ratings overall. 5. Decent operating hours The Butterworth outlet opens early (around 7 am) until late (11pm) so good for breakfast at roti canai or later meals.

Everything about this place is nice, if you’re looking for an indian authentic nasi kandar (imo). The price are quite affordable but the taste is really good! Would recommend to come to this place outside of lunch and dinner peak hour, as it really packed in those time window

The restaurant is at the very end corner of the shop lot hence it was very hard to find parking. Need to park a lil bit far from the restaurant and walk from there. Came at around 3pm and there’s queue but the queues moved fast. After about 10minutes I already get my food and was seated. The price is reasonable. Taste wise it was okay and good for me but the mix sauce is a bit spicy for me. Overall experience was good, staff was helpful
