Grub by Ahong & Friends

First time in Grub, ordered NZ striploin steak, the bird (forgot the name 🤣), ramdon and yorkshire pudding. Everything was good, but my tekak melayu couldn’t quite enjoy the yorkshire pudding. Its a unique taste but not to my liking. Everything else was perfect. Steak was cooked to perfection, VERY TENDER, juicy and the fat was the best part. The noodle was chewy nicely cooked and portion of wagyu was a lot. Loved to see all the unique table arrangements too. The staff was very attentive and quick. I walked in and waiting time was short. Will def come again!

Tried their sirloin steak, as I've been craving steak recently. The steak was cooked nicely to medium rare, and tastes good. Although I'd recommend splurging for a higher marbled wagyu if your budget allows for it, as the normal sirloin was a bit tough, so I'd imagine the wagyu will be juicier. Also tried their chicken chop, and it was very good too. It's well seasoned, and it was grilled nicely. (Doesn't taste dry) The thing that surprised me and my gf was definitely the potato salad that came with the steak and chicken chop, it tasted great, and complemented the steak and chicken chop very well. The sides we had was garlic bread, pani puri and chips(fries) all tasted great too, and would certainly recommend them. Only thing that wasn't as good was the Yorkshire pudding, as it tasted a bit bland, and was just not as good as the rest of the meal. Would recommend this place for anyone that's looking for a good steak!

The steak was really juicy, goes well with the potato. Reallyy goood. The ramdon, just nice. A little bit salty but all finish 😂 we really like the food. The cheesecake so gooood too! Different than other place. Recommended. Definitely will come again!

I believe this restaurant has successfully established a strong presence over the years, and it shows—food quality, pricing, and service remain highly satisfactory. While it may not offer the most “Instagrammable” dine-in vibe compared to places that invest heavily in interior design, it delivers what you would expect from a quality restaurant. The steak was tender and cooked just right, and the salads were genuinely refreshing—proper portions too, not the overly “pathetic” amount some restaurants serve. Overall, the dine-in experience felt pleasant and reliable. One side note: the grilled pigeon wasn’t fully to my personal taste. I couldn’t really tell a big difference versus grilled chicken, and there were quite a lot of small bones, which made it a bit troublesome to eat. That said, it’s more of a personal preference than a real downside. Overall, I’d strongly recommend this place.
