Kanna Curry House in PJ remains a nice go-to for a satisfying banana leaf rice fix, especially if you appreciate strong, punchy curries and a great variety of sides. The flavors across the board are spot on. Service is fast, so you aren’t left waiting long. It’s also one of those rare spots that manages to keep a nice ambience and a noticeably clean washroom while maintaining very affordable pricing. Overall, it's a reliable, fuss-free choice for a hearty meal that doesn't break the bank.

While the servers are very nice and kind, the system is crappy and there’s no coordination between each staff member. One gets a banana leaf and waits an eternity for rice. Then, asking for rassam is another hassle. Papaddam arrives when you’re almost done and at this point you don’t even want it. The homemade achars and chutney complete your meal. They need to improve on cleanliness and efficiency. The chicken is served hot from the fryer and is seasoned very well. Curries are tasty and spicy. Coconut water goes well with your food alongside limau ice. A man sitting next to us got his banana leaf, papadam and chutneys. His rice took so much time he walked off, no food consumed. No doubt he was hungry and pissed. The laddoo isn’t the best and not recommended.

Food: 3.5⭐️ | Service: 3⭐️ | Ambience: 2.5⭐️ Came here for banana leaf and chicken varuval bcos i had an average chicken varuval at another restaurant two days ago. The chicken varuval is tastier than the one in Jln Gasing but the accompanying curries in Jln Gasing are more aromatic. I still prefer the thali set & chicken varuval from another restaurant inside the Curve. The karipap and kuih ketayap are a letdown. Especially the kelapa from ketayap, it has no toasted aroma, just plain sweet. One restaurant in SS14 has yummy karipap and kuih ketayap. Masala tea is fine. 3.5⭐️ for food bcos i’ve eaten tastier Indian food elsewhere. And, this visit, somehow i feel that the taste of their food is different from the previous time i came here. Will i come back? Yes Probably yes Maybe ✅ Probably no No

Ever since I moved to Kajang and hardly been here for curry leave rice. Today passed by PJ and revisited this place again after many years later. Love their fried chicken and fish. So yummy. The gravy just goood. The bitter gourd has to be ordered separately and it’s not served as one of the condiments. Overall, I like their food. And their curry puffs really a bomb. Only thing is…parking. So hard to get parking and it’s challenging during lunch time and weekends. Nearby there’s open carpark, just need to walk quite some distance and not too friendly for elderly.

Had an amazing experience at Kanna Curry House ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The food was absolutely delicious and full of authentic South Indian flavors. The banana leaf set was generous, the curries were rich and aromatic, and every side dish complemented perfectly. Their fried chicken and mutton dishes are a must-try! Service was fast despite the crowd, and the staff were attentive and efficient. The overall atmosphere is lively and truly gives you that classic local dining experience. Definitely one of the best spots for banana leaf rice. Will keep coming back for more!
