Good food and a good environment! Even though it's peak hour during dinner, they continue to provide excellent service with a warm smile. It really makes for a pleasant experience.

Luckypot stands out in PJ for doing Hunan cuisine properly—bold, punchy, and unapologetically intense without tipping into gimmickry. The sour vegetable fish is the anchor dish here: clean, assertive acidity from the preserved vegetables, a chilli heat that builds rather than overwhelms, and fish that stays tender instead of falling apart. It’s the kind of dish that wakes up your palate immediately and makes you reach for more rice without thinking. The supporting cast is just as strong. The salted egg eggplant strikes that difficult balance between richness and restraint—creamy, savoury, but not cloying—while the minced pork long beans bring crunch, fragrance, and a comforting savouriness that rounds out the meal. Together, the dishes show a kitchen that understands Hunan flavours beyond surface-level spice: layered heat, controlled sourness, and wok work that keeps textures intact. It’s robust, satisfying food that feels confident rather than performative—exactly what good Hunan cooking should be.
My dinner tonight was almost ruined. We ordered the double happiness cat fish with mini lobster 🦞. The waiter informed that the mini lobster ran out and we decided to cancel and changed our order to the sour vegetables fish instead. The waiter forgot to cancel our order and after 10 mins informed us of the mistake and told us they have already prepared our fish and that the sour vegetables fish has not been prepared. Indirectly he tried to pressure us to accept the grilled fish though we insist that we want to replace with the sour vegetables fish. Our dining group mood was already ruined and we decided not to pursue but to accept the mistake they have made. To our surprise, the garoupa fish was deep fried and not fresh cooked in the broth. The fish was also dry and tough, u can refer to the photo which shows the fried fish. The grilled fish also came with no vegetables except for the big bean sprouts and some tofu skin noodles. Overall the food was very oily. If u see from the photo, the Beijing cabbage was soaked in oil!! The braised pork was also pretty tough!! The dining place was also warm though they have tuned down the Aircon to 16 Deg C. We were sweating throughout the dinner. The service staff was kind enough to offer us with complimentary dessert to compensate us on their mistake but we did not have the appetite for any dessert as the place was quite warm and we just wanted to get out as soon as possible. Definitely not heading back to this food establishment. There are many other good ones in KL.

Second visit here, food, service, speed is pretty consistent. We had the salted egg eggplant (must try) and lamb skewers (also good) last visit. This time we tried cabbage (also really flavourful) and coming back again for the classic suan cai fish. Parking can be slightly challenging during peak time, walk in queue time ranges frm no queue to 20-30mins. Restaurant is well ventilated so you will still feel a cool breeze whilst “burning” your tongue.
